Allied Construction Management Inc, with its office in St. John’s, Newfoundland, is a construction, project management, and development company, established in 1995 to pursue construction related services in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Allied Construction Management Inc. (“Allied”) offers a variety of services including construction management, bid-build contracting, budget development, and self-performance.

Accounting/Office Administrator

Reporting to the President of Allied Construction Management Inc., the successful candidate will:

  • Provide bookkeeping services to support the day-to-day operation of the company
  • Code and process accounts payable invoices and associated payments
  • Manage subcontractor and holdback payments
  • Process billings to customers, associated receipts and deposits, and accounts receivable follow up as required
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit monthly HST remittances
  • Complete account reconciliations as required
  • Provide support for the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Type and proofread correspondence, forms and other documents
  • Determine and establish office procedures and routines
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Order office supplies
  • Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information
  • Set up and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems
  • Assist the construction team with the day-to-day management and estimating activities

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Accounting diploma or relevant level of experience
  • Previous experience in the Project Management and Construction industry would be an asset
  • The ideal candidate is able to work independently and demonstrates accountability for work assigned
  • Possesses strong time management and organizational skills
  • Exemplifies a professional and enthusiastic disposition
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Jonas computerized accounting software would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel software
